Educational Disclaimer
Sport Social Smart is an educational programme. It aims to encourage a more aware, enjoyable and balanced use of social media, using the team values clubs already teach.
What it is not
- It is not medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, including compulsive use or addiction.
- It has no demonstrated clinical effectiveness and does not promise better behaviour or sporting performance.
- It does not score, rank or assess young people's mental health.
About the research
The starting programme of 40 lessons is informed by 40 selected scientific articles, adapted editorially to sport. Some articles share author affiliations or study populations, so they are not 40 independent studies or 40 universities. Research often shows associations, not causes. No university endorses this service. The lessons are in preparation.
If you are worried
If you are concerned about a young person's wellbeing or safety, speak to a qualified professional or your local support services. In an emergency contact local emergency services.
